Principal
Col SS Minhas is a post-graduate in Chemistry (Organic) from Garhwal University, Srinagar, Uttranchal. He is an alumnus of Indian Military Academy, Dehradun and is commissioned into the Army Education Corps on 17 Dec 1983. The officer has served in various staff and instructional appointments with singular distinction. He has been instructor at IMA Dehradun twice (from 1988 to 1991 and from 1998 to 2001) and College of Military Engineering, Pune from 1991 to 1994. He did his Auto Data Processing course from Faculty of Computers Training, Military College of Technological Engineering, Mhow. He has held the appointment of Officer in Charge Computer Centre at IMA, Dehradun.
He has been associated with the establishment of Army Public School at Phithoragarh (UA) and Kendriya Vidyalaya at Trehgan (Srinagar). As a Major and Lt Col, the officer has been appointed as General Staff Officer, MT-15, and later as General Staff Officer -1, MT-15 at Integrated Headquarters (IHQ) of Ministry of Defence (Army), where he has been associated with the administration and management of five Military Schools. The officer has held Staff Officer appointments at Brigade, Division and Corps at various places. Before taking over as Principal, Sainik School Sujanpur Tira, he has held Colonel General Staff (Education) appointment at Headquarters 4 Corps. |

Headmaster
Wg Cdr S Jayashankar has joined as a Headmaster w.e.f 11 May 07. Wg Cdr S Jayashankar belongs to district Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu and was a student of SS Amaravathinagar w.ef from Jul 1975 to Mar 1982 and was a House Appointment. He later did MSc, M Phil (Maths), and Diploma in Statistical Training. He got commissioned in IAF on 16 June 1990. He was an Education Officer and officer in-charge General Service Training in Jalahalli, Bangalore from Jun 1990 to May 1993. From Jun 1993 to Mar 1994 he underwent course at in International Education Centre, ISI, Kolkata. In HQ Eastern Air Command, Shillong, he served as a Command statistical Officer from Apr 1994 to Dec 1995. He was Senior Education Officer in HQ EAC (U), AF from Jan 1996 to Oct 1997. The officer also served as a Headmaster in SS Korukonda w.e.f Nov 1997 to Apr 2002.
He was Instructor (Outdoor Training) in AF Academy, Hyderabad from Apr 2002 to Jan 2005. He was appointed Joint Director Education in Directorate of Education, Air HQ, New Delhi from Feb 2005 to Oct 2005. Here he was concerned with framing and implementation of policies relating to AF schools, KVs and School Run Transport Secretary, AF Educational and Cultural Society. Prior to joining this, he was as a Station Education Officer in 7 Base Repair Depot, Tughlakabad, New Delhi. His hobbies include all indoor and outdoor sports and games, adventure activities like trekking, hiking, camping, cycling etc. |

Registrar
An alumnus of the 4th Batch (1981) of the School, Lt Col SK Sharma assumed the appointment of the Registrar of Sainik School, Sujanpur Tira on 22 Jun 2009, thereby being the first to earn the coveted honour. He passed out from the School in 1988 and subsequently joined the NDA in the same year.
Lt Col SK Sharma was commissioned into JAK Rifles in Dec 1992. During his service spanning over 16 years, he served mostly in Jammu & Kashmir in Counter Terrorism and Line of Control environment with his Unit and the Rashtriya Rifles. Besides, he has served in the elite counter Hijack Group of the NSG before rejoining the Unit during Operation PARAKRAM. Later, he was posted as OC Provost in HQ Project Deepak in Shimla. He served as Adjutant in Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre prior to assuming the present appointment.
Lt Col SK Sharma has been awarded Chief of the Army Staff Commendation Card for gallantry thrice during his tenure in Rashtriya Rifles from 2003 to 2005. He is a keen sportsman and has been the School Captain in 1987-88 while in Class XII. He is married to Mrs Poonam Sharma, who is an Asstt. Librarian in Govt. School. They have two daughters aged 09 and 04 years respectively. |
